The vision of Step By Step is based upon the belief and acceptance of the absolute truth of scripture.
(1) We believe without reservation in the full and final inspiration of the Bible as the only infallible and authoritative Word of God. References: Proverbs 30:5-6; II Timothy 3:16-17
The doctrine of the Trinity is foundational to the Christian faith, and is thoroughly established in the Bible.
(2) We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. References: John 10:30; John 17:21-22; Matthew 28:18&19; I Corinthians 8:6
We believe that Jesus Christ is Lord.
(3) We believe in the deity and supremacy of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His imminent return with power and glory. References: John 14:6; Colossians 1:15-20; Acts 1:1-11; Acts 7:56; Luke 24:36-51
Because we believe Jesus is the only means of salvation, our ultimate goal is to introduce the girls to Him. We feel it is our role to strive to exemplify God's grace by our attitudes and actions.
(4) We believe salvation is a gift of God's grace, given to those who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. References: Ephesians 2:4-9; Acts 15:11
We believe that what we do here can make an eternal difference. Our goal is to help bring these girls to a point where their eternity in Heaven is secure.
(5) We believe in eternal life, including an eternal heaven and an eternal hell. References: Matthew 25:46; Hebrews 9:27; Luke 16:19-26
The inherent value of all human life is clearly established in Scripture. Therefore, we do not believe in abortion neither will we suggest abortion as a birth control method or pregnancy option. At the same time, we will not exclude or condemn anyone who has chosen that option.
(6) We believe in God, the Creator of life, and therefore believe in the preservation and not destruction of the sanctity of born and unborn human life. References: Psalm 139:13-16; Proverbs 24:11; Jeremiah 1:4&5; Job 31:13-15; Isaiah 49:5; Luke 1:15,39-41,44
We will suggest abstinence outside of marriage as the only form of birth control that we will support or encourage. We will not exclude or condemn anyone who has chosen another option.
(7) We believe in sexual abstinence outside of marriage as the Bible teaches. References: I Thessalonians 4:3-5; I Corinthians 6:18-20; Hebrews 13:4
We encourage our volunteers in all areas of this organization to be in prayer for God's will concerning this ministry.
(8) We believe Christ is at the center of everything we do in this organization, and we are committed to seeking His will in everything we do. References: Matthew 6:33; Matthew 28:18; Ephesians 1:22; Colossians 1:18
Because we have been shown unconditional love and forgiveness through Christ we will strive to express the same kind of love that we have received. We will not exclude or condemn any girl on the basis of her past or present decision.
(9) We believe in approaching ministry in a non-judgmental way, which accepts people with love and compassion. References: I John 3:18&23; Matthew 5:7; Matthew 7:1&2;
